In the monastery of Saint Georgios Krimnon lived the eminent popular teacher Pahomios Rousanos during the Ottoman occupation, as well as Saint Gerasimos of Kefalonia while Saint Dionisios is connected to the monastery of Virgin Mary Spilaiotissis.
On Lefkada distinguishes the Virgin Mary Faneromeni, on Kephalonia the monastery of Saint Gerasimos of Omalon, whose relic is also kept there, the monastery of Hyperagia Virgin Mary Atrou, of Hyperagia Virgin Mary of Sission, of Apostle Andrea, of Hyperagia Virgin Mary of Koronato, of Estavromenou and others. On the island of Kithira exists the monastery of Holy Theodore with a museum of excellent ecclesiastical art.
